Most impressive SketchUp modelling

you guys should make a tab and maybe call it wall of fame, and only stuff like this is kept here (only a suggestion) wink wink
+1 (But maybe an Only SketchUp without plugins)

@artysmedia
Once for rare, I don't agree with you Roberto. External Plugins are called to be inherent by philosophy to SketchUp System . Without them Su is far less powerful. Imagine Su without bezier curves@silver_shadow said:

I have read that somewhere that Su development team was waiting for the invaluable contribution of the external ruby developers, as they was concentrating more specifically on the engine..(something like that)

What would it prove? Masochistic traits or extraordinary craftsmanship? I guess it´s even possible to manually "subdivide and smooth", but at what cost?

Guys, guys...dont hijack this thread.
It's for showing "the world" what can be done with SketchUp as a modelling tool.
Images can be shown as renders but the focus for this thread is about great/exellent/superb modelling.
The best of the best! ...not just great.
If someone wants to make a new thread about modelling without plugins thats fine, but this thread allows plugins. -
+1
I'll split the topic when/if it continues. It is a debate worth having, but not here.
-
Sorry, it wasn´t my intention to hijack the thread.
It´s just that I don´t see any point in pursuing such "plugin-free" attitude if this is the result.
No hard feelings. -

fbartels is one of the great and kind SCF contributors. It is sad to don't see him coming anymore.
His imagination and the very unique way he is using SketchUp deserves him to be here..His site+++: Design With SketchUp (and FileMaker)
Fred if you hear, please come again

The work of our so nice fellow DaveR is remarkable in many ways +++
and it is going to be a little hard to attest of it in one post..
DaveR Gallery (unfortunately lot of pictures had been accidentally deleted)
His Flickr's SketchUp Gallery1)Modeling
Something particular in his drawings is that they are made to be realized. Consequently, each piece is completely drawn in its total complexity: even the hidden parts!!
2)Style and material
No doubt, Dave is unrivalled concerning what he is able to achieve with styles!! his materials are always first class too3)Teaching
I think a majority of people don't even know that Dave is an absolute master in teaching SketchUp. His solutions are always astonishing and elegant.

all i actually wanted to say was that i think it should be a site where only moderators can post this, and we as public can comment on it, kind of like su oscars lol.

Simon, you are very flattering. Thank you.

@Silver:
judges versus reporters
competition versus admiration
organization versus democratic anarchy ?????
a big problem is that many moderators can pretend to compete@Fred & Dave it had been a pleasure to me and first for myself to scan your works and then to report it the better I could.. Hope I don't make too much; hope I don't put me in place of a judge. It can be a danger of a wrong way...
