Entrance hall + staircase -- study
-
5, for me, great stuff mate.
-
5 for me, although I may be being influenced by the warmth of the render. In 4,5,6 the simplicity of the wall colors and textures let the rest of the materials speak.
Nice work, by the way. -
4, 5 and maybe 6 for me, too.
All are nice renders though - I am just ageing for those too colourful things. -
Yeah, 4 and 5 are the more real world ideas!

I prefer dark wood my self it seems "richer". However a word of caution. There have been studies about how people's feet clear the tread risers as they walk up a stair and it is a small number and is the reason code specifies small numbers also. Could not tell from your pics what they are hope you consider that. If not you may have soom redesign to do
-
Hi, thank you all for replies .
4 - european oak, edge glued boards
5 - european beech, edge glued boards
6 - european beech core, edge glued boardsMy favourite is no. 8 .

I Scaled the treads and risers from the model , the risers are about 179 mm which is approximately 7" which is ok for commercial and residential stairs in the USA. the treads are winders but in the center are about 11 inches. Depending upon the codes you need to follow, it should be acceptable.
-
Basic calculation: h = 180mm
b = 275mm
2h + b = 610-630 mm (human's step length)
2*180 + 275 = 635 mmI think it is Ok .
-
Are you saying that you wear that heavy duty boot on your right foot and that high heel sandal on the left when testing these stairs? If you drink two beers, no matter how they are built, you will have problems!
-
Yes, you are right, because both are for a right foot .

5 for me, looks more contemporary. Would sell better because of neutrality. You may add some contemporary light color to it if color desired.

It's the riser variation from top to bottom I was discussing. I think some building codes only allow about 1/16" and the photo appears questionable .
BTW: Some old castles steps were made with variation purposely to help thwart soldiers -
First of all thank u for the scene download! All your renders look amazing.
I think I 'll give it a try on my free time...whenever that happens!!!!
I am choosing 4 & 5.CAntonis
-
4 and 5.
But yes, all excellent renders!
-
Great renders ... No 5 is a hit for me too, but No 6 also felt sort of cosy retro, what with the blueish hue on the walls and the prominent flooring...
-
I like 4,5,6&7
-
Thanks all for feedback .
-
I'd just finished the study. Enjoy the pictures .
