      I think a similar effect could be achieved in Sketchup using something like the upcoming TT Bezier Surface plugin or TIG's Extrude Tools or Fredo's Curviloft if each polygon could be converted to an simple scaled polygon Component with the axes oriented to the normal of the face. Once you had that "Componentized" you could simply switch out all instances to whatever component you wanted.

      Does this exist already?
