VCB Clipboard?
-
Is there a plugin or method to copy the contents of the VCB to the clipboard and then paste it into another tools VCB? It would be great to assign a shortcut to do this so if I'm using say the tape measure tool, I could copy the distance, then paste it into the VCB for other tools.

i use the tab key for that (tab highlights the vcb instead of mousing to it)
simple example:
draw a line
push tab
⌘C (ctrl-C windows)
draw another line
⌘V
return[i'm not sure if the tab key does the same thing on windows]

In windows, TAB seems to just clear the VCB. I can't select the measurement reading at all to copy it. It would great if it were that simple. Must save a lot of time on a Mac doing it that way.

Dear Adam,
Not quite what you want, but you could use cut and paste from the Entity Info box.

Thanks Bob, but you can't paste into the VCB that I can tell.(?) Also Entity info box doesn't work with Tape Measure tool guides. I was guessing it would have to be done via ruby script, which is why I put the thread here and not in the general discussion area. I'm pretty sure the VCB is accessible via ruby, as someone made a calculator with it, I just don't know if you can glean and store a number and then reinsert it.
