Texture Splitting Up
-
Hey all. Quick question. I tried to texture a cylinder in Sketchup and it split up the texture like it is separate sections. I created it with the circle tool and not with the polygon tool. Any help? I made another cylinder and the textures worked fine. What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing. SU sometimes wraps the texture around a cylinder nicely by itself, other rimes it does not (I have been unable to find a pattern yet).
Make sure you are not working from "outside" a group or component.
Go to View > Hidden geometry and this will reveal the facets. Now right click on one of the facets > Texture > Position texture. Do nothing but press Enter to exit texture positioning.
Now with the paint bucket active, hold the Alt key and sample the texture from this face.
Turn off hidden geometry and paint the positioned (and sampled) texture on the whole surface. If it is still stubborn, turn hidden geometry on again and sample paint the texture from one facet to the next and keep doing this until you get around the cylinder.

That seemed to do it. Thanks a bunch Gai!
