[Plugin] Reverse_back_face_v1.9 102910
-
Shoots, it down loads, installs, and runs OK on my PC. I will have to get help before I can find out what the problem is with running the code on a Mac. Just to make sure, can you verify that the plugin will not even load? If it loads then fails to run, can you open the Ruby Console, run the app, and post any error message? If message too long, the top 5-6 lines should be enough.

OK, fixed here, thanks to jim.

Sorry, I just downloaded and still get the error message on Mac OSX 10.6 SU8 Pro.
I have been trying to sort faces on welded follow me elements. Half the faces are backwards. Orient faces always flips some wrong ones forward. Front face tool is slow and still doesn't catch them all. These are welded surfaces but each face in the softened shape has to be changed separately. Fortunately most of the rendering so far hasn't mattered for some reason.

does orient faces work properly if you turn on hidden geometry first?
it did in v7 on a mac...

Yes it does work better, but I still have other nearby faces flipping backwards for no apparent reason. I think there is just a lot of geometry on this molding (yep, more than necessary but it looks nice in the detail renderings, which was my main goal). I think in this case I need to separate more of the geometry, then these routines should work better.

- Do you have the folder "hdt_folder" in the "plugins" folder?
- Did you select the appropriate scanning accuracy? If you have small faces, you may need to select "high".
- Are your faces too small? Sometimes this is a sketchup problem. The workaround is to scale the part up, reverse, then back down.
At times, the plugin is not 100% accurate. Sometimes there are one or two faces that must be manually reversed. Can you pose a screen capture of the reversed model with problem faces?

Honolulu,
No, it doesn't load. Just gives the error message above. The Hdt folder is there.

placot, Please verify that you have installed v1.9. I will post a special version of Reverse_back_face to step through the plugin to see where it crashes.
Others, If you can get the plugin to run by turning on "hidden geometry", first open the ruby console, then run the plugin. If you get a error message in the ruby console, post a screen print of it here.
Thanks, hdt

Yes, sir. It is v. 1.9. and hdt folder is in the plugins folder. Thanks, Peter
