Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
-
Hi guys, Its been a wile since my last thread but hey, thats doesnt meen I havent been modeling
She is completely modeled in Sketchup 6,max and KT for renders
Here is my latest Update on her,I started this project on the 18th Oct 2010 :Boom ends Completed
Her lines added, still some to add but majority of them are there,I tried leaving the boom swivels at the foot of the mast at a 90deg angle...Im guessing it should be between 30-45 as some lines tell a story that this position should not be happening
All 6 Bollards added, Poop has been fixed, that little by the rail was missing, not that easy to fix as all the rails had to be remodeled.
And some unbaked shots in VSF :
And for those interested in the previouse pics :

Superb!

Hey Marius,
What a cool job
I like a bit more the three first pictures where your drifter seems to be a small model boat++simon
PS: with such a work some revealed processes are always very welcome -
Very good
-
I too like the virtual "physical scale model" look of those first shots. It would be cool to see it rendered in a glass case in a setting.
Impressive modelling!
-
+1 on all the above. Fine work.

+2
Like to see a ship in a bottle.
Looks great!
-
wonderfully detailed model... love the setting of the render.
-
Very nice model and cool renders.
Best,

Fantastic model brilliant renders ....well done

Marius,
This looks awesome, there is a lot of detail and time invested here. I agree that it would look cool in a bottle, but then again in a Cape town harbor scene with Table mountain in the background would also work great.
How heavy is the model?
And as I say to any interesting model, if you ever have the urge to share, this would make a fantastic model for our 'Render this' thread.

Wonderful model. So I can see life on the edge
-
Very well done. Wow.
I'm also curious as to the file size.

Thx Guys,As for the bottle idea, ill spend 15mins on some test renders and see how it goes, might be interesting, Working on animations for the booms and relative Lines for trawling.
She is 56k polys at the moment, but i plan a fully detailed bridge and interior (everything from the keel up )
Ill get some Renders with the Sketchup screenshots to match as soon as she is done, no extra work done on her this weekend hehe got away from the box!

Marius, what does that 56k of polys translate into megs or gigs file size?
Thanks.

Oh its a 4.56mb Sketchup file, only 1 texture at the moment so that number will start climbing when weathering and rust etc is added

Hi Marius,
a really nice model. I would like to know how you can do the water so realistically. Is done with an image editing program? Let me die not stupid please!
below two tries with Kerkythea Water material and Artlantis Water material.

Beautiful work, Marius! Congrats! -
Thx Charly & Numbthumb, I took those last 4 pics from in game while sailing her around Corsica,a scenery that comes with VSF
The renders i have done in KT on the Other forum link there was done with the water materials available for free download from the kt site using the "Wavy" water material
