Help for a Newbie

I'm a latecomer to the digital world but am trying to catch up. I am a woodworker and would like to use SketchUp to help me design/build custom designs.
I need help with getting a grasp on the basic operations of SketchUp. I'm the type of person that takes a while to get "it", but once I do then I'm good to go.
Any one out there willing to point me in the right direction? If there is, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Feel free to ask any questions (even if they seem to be dumb) about general things here in the Newbie Forum (after all, this is why we set it up).
