      Hello everyone

Here are some screens of my most recent project. It's a small seaside city that I designed and modeled from scratch... because of the size I tried to find a balance of detail and model simplicity.

For anyone who would like to view the full model (23 MB) here is a link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F14IGIWT

      Thanks for looking!

That's a lot of modeling. Looks good!

Yes, it's tough finding the right balance between detail and file size in a model. I'm still learning as well.

            beautiful... that's a big model.

            some thoughts...

            1. the barrier walls on the road are a bit large and foreboding...

            2. some kind of dock/waterfront buildings/boats would be kool.

            3. I'd like to see some cars and some people... it's lonely.

            4. some smoother concrete sidewalks... the current texture looks strange like chat.

really looks great, you did a good job with the visibility range and horizon haze.

the roads look very good, natural elevation changes. and great textures... I'd love to see nighttime with lamps and house lights.

That is pretty cool, Brandon. I like it a lot.

Looks like it could be used for a video game.

                Keep it up.

Thanks for your comments and recommendations.. I've made some minor changes to the model and started another new city. Because of the size of the I chose not to include vehicles but since I make my own low poly car models (just for fun) here are 2 screenshots with a car in it (it's a parody of the early 90s Taurus wagon:)

Hi Brandon - I saw this model in the sketchup 3D warehouse but the link is not working because Megaupload is down. I am an assistant Professor at ETH Zürich and I am very interested in using this model for a VR project that assess stress and navigation. Please let me know what is the best way to proceed to download this model. If you wish to contact me, my email address is v.schinazi[at]gmail.com

                    Thank you,

                    Victor

Hi Ken - I am trying to get in touch with Brandon to get a copy of this city but I am wondering if you can help since the megaupload link is down.

                      Thank you,

                      Victor

                        @Schinazi:
You can try to PM (private message) Brandon by clicking on the blue emblem below his name/profile. Just mouse over and click.

There is something decidedly dodgy about the last few posts. An assistant professor? Looking to download a model from the warehouse? I would think the architecture department of any university would have more than enough models to use in any study.
