Cutting a hole into a cone?

hi, i have made a cone. i would like to punch some square and circular holes in it, except i can seem to make the shape curve to the cone. help?!

You can make that, will be the same with a cylinder (more easy)
Intersection = Right Click / Intersect selectedYou can use Booltools till V7 or V8 free at Smustard (10 $)
(Automatic intersection)On the SU Pro v8 that is automatic
If you don't want use a box and draw a square or a circle on the cone
take Tools on surface by Fredo 6
