[Plugin] Rename Component Instance
-
The normal way to rename a component instance is to use the entity info window. This script saves only one mouse click. But if you need to rename a lot of components, that can add up. Just activate the tool, and double-click on any component instance you wish to rename. CB.

Thanks Daiku - but why not just 1 click?

No good reason, really. Just seemed intuitive to me. Easy to change, though.

Daiku, I've got a question and maybe a challenge for you

I am looking for a similar script that would be able to change the names for a group of components, but the definition name and not the name, and what is most important to be able to set the order (SU does not accept two components with the same name, so the script might do it in an certain order...let's say you've got 100 components, and the script will name them component#1 ... component#2...an so on).
Thanks.

Dear daiku! Please add possibility to choose name from a combobox. As it is done in plugin makeNamedGroup...
Thank you very much!!!

Someone knows a way, plugin, app or whatever to auto rename instances with consecutive names?, example: select component#1, component#2 and component#3 (the three are the same component), one click > auto rename instances and you have on instance#1 = name#1, on instance #2 = name#2 and so on.
Thanks
