Animate scaling with proper animation

hi,
can anyone tell me if it's possible to animate the change of size of an object?

you can but it's not really an easy process (though i'm sure it could be automated via ruby)
doing it manually as in this video, i scaled the ball up 1.05x then exported it (i used 2D jpgs).. i did that a few more times then compiled the exported images in quicktime..

if you don't make a rotation and shadows, maybe you can make a move a long a perpendical path to the observer

Result will be the same
Else I don't believe you can animate the "size" between 2 scenes
Object will make first the move from scene 1 to scene 2 (movment of the same apparent new position resized) then make the "size" so that is hurting
I am curious of the Jeff operation
