[not sure if requests go in this forum any longer.. if not, please move to proper location πŸ˜„ ]

this would be a good one for me and i assume many others...

basically, certain tools are rarely used by me but when i do need them, i might have to use it a lot.. i can't really designate a shortcut key because 1, i would probably forget it since it's not being used constantly and 2, i don't have enough keys to shortcut everything..

this plugin would make it easy to assign any given tool to a key (the same key or two -- just assigned to a different tool at different times)

it could work something like this --- (for this example, i'll use Z and X)

-there could be two buttons whose icons say 1 and 2 (or z and x.. or whatever)
-i select my tool (let's say bezier edit tool) then i click the Z icon..
-my Z key will now be assigned to the bezier edit tool for the rest of my session or until i reassign it to a different tool

      possible?

        Well,
you cana lways assign a shortcut to the Windows/Preferences option. So you can access it on almost a single click and then manually modify add a shortcut for that tool. You could simply use one letter always for this operation so next session if yopu need a different tool to be using this Hot Key you will change the Shortcut and not mess with others or run out of keys.
I am no Ruby scripter, but that would be good enough for me...

well, yeah, that's what i do sometimes.. definitely not a single click process though.. and even then, i don't do it as often as i should.. seems like i usually end up resorting to the toolbar because stopping to set up a shortcut kills the workflow.. thing is, i'm often left trying to find the icon on the toolbar etc..

i dunno, it's just an idea that i'm throwing out there.. i'm not expecting someone to actually write this thing πŸ˜„
