I just thought I would say hello to you all, long time lurker first time poster (well, since my last 2 posts in 2008 ).

I have found myself with tufts of hair missing after trying to make a rectangular handrail for a spiral staircase. Seems that it's not as straight forward as I initially anticipated.

I have done a few searches and have found that there have been some inherent issues with this seemingly simple task, namely the twisting of a face when following a spiral profile.

Is there a way to accomplish this using just SU?
      Any advice is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks in advance from Downunder.

      Bob

        Hi Bob,

Indeed this is a drawback or limitation of the Follow me tool; it twists when following a non-coplanar path.

There is a plugin; "FollowMeAndKeep" which can be used for such operations (handrails are especially the "best example" for the use of it).

        Gai...
