Search the model?

Is it possible to search for the name of a component or group, much like you search a spreadsheet?
A colleague of mine is looking at making a Virtual warehouse. Each pallet or crate would have a Number, not consecutive, they would be the purchase order number, 7 digits long. So if he used components and added those numbers to the entity info is it then possible to type in the number you want and have the individual box highlighted.

The Outliner Window (at least on Windows) has a filter field which filters Groups and Components by name that match the Filter. Then you can select them right in the Outliner.

Outliner has some real power behind it, particularly when it comes to big models, and managing groups and components, which you can view in hierarchy, relocate within that hierarchy, Filter, select and delete. I think it is one of the gems of SketchUp that a lot of folks don't take advantage of.
