Hobbnob's WIP Thread

thanks goldenfrog, I've intersected the bits and put them all together now
-
Any work on the Pather or it's video?
-
Yep, but not the video. I mentioned earlier about the weapon system, so far i've been concentrating on the sketchyphysics side of the weapon system, so expect a bit more progress on the static:
A quick example of the zoom now, the model has lazyscript plugged in, which I have used to almost completely eliminate bullet drop, making long range shooting a lot easier.
-
Looks intriguing, but I can't give you an evaluation of your work, because I haven't played it.

Did some work on nola's Vue, heres the original:
On a couple of quick renders of the half finished one:
-
Hah, that's very nice, though on the second render the windshield glass seems "Grainy". Other than that, very nice. How, for heavens sake, did you make the tarp in the first??

WOW! It looks awesome!

golden, I made contours using intersect, then 'rebuilt' the car using the curviloft beta by fredo6 (immense plugin). After fixing a couple of problems (it's a beta) the generated mesh looked perfect for fabric, so i scaled it up a bit then sliced a hole so that the viewer could see a bit, connoting that it's in one of those shows where they reveal the car for the first time(kind of what I was actually doing )
-
Ah, thats really brilliant!
-
Bit more work on the Panther CLV, only one pic though, and a little attachment
Controls
WASD=Move
Arrows=Aim
E=Zoom
Q=Fire
-
Awesome work with the zoom functions. I wish I knew what the exploding gray spheres were...They seem to appear when I press key('f').
-
the panthers not bad but the arrow keys sometimes stick and the gun just rotates around or it doesnt move at all.
but this isnt all the time. other than that its quite good
-
cam, I have no idea what causes the sticking, it's so annoying.

Been off the pc for a few days, been sorting out kit for cadet 150 down at buckingham palace. Was a very good day, marched up the mall, met prince charles, talked about cadets and the regulars and stuff, wwas a very good day, I doubt everyone can say they've been to a royal garden party . Anyways, I'll be putting some more wip pics soon.

Quite right. I haven't either!

New project, the first of it's kind: a sketchyphysics airshow. I used williamT's hawk and then added the red arrows livery, then added sketchyphysics. The aircraft are capable of breaking and reentering formation, but it requires split-second timing on the script's part so it's difficult.
Couple of pics:
And a link to the beta:

Awessome job!

Been working on a black hawk helicopter, focus on the sketchyphysics. I am currently unable to upload pictures because I am not in possession of the file (long story) so I shall instead give some information on the sketchyphysics side.
The sketchyphysics
The aircraft is fully capable of flight, and is also fully damageble. A small knock on the tail rotor will disable the stability control and send the aricraft into a slow spin. The stability control automatically resets the pitch and roll of the aircraft, so losing that is a big problem. If the rotor is hit multiple times, the engines will begin to lose power and the aircraft will spin faster. A hit to the main rotors however will drasticalyl reduce the power output of the aircraft, and you will crash.
The situation in the model is that you have to fly over a hostile zone in order to reach a location. There is a single rpg gunner in the zone that the pilot cannot see until he has fired a rocket, forcing the pilot to either make evasive maneuvers or hope that the rocket does not hit any critical systems. I am trying to make this model as realistic as possible, in both the static model and the physics. Due to the new sketchyphysics coming though I am not sure whether I shall complete this model, because the new version may not be compatible with the current version, but it looks like it will. IMHO I am pleased that sp is getting a proper overhaul, but it seems that all of the new features require a knowledge of ruby script, which IMO could leave some users behind.

Hobb, if I were you I'd carry on with it. SketchyBehaviours is on the horizon, but the horizon is very far away
Love the sound of the heli though
