South Africa? England? or USA? Give us a clue as to where home is!!!
-
It's more complicated than that, My mum is Dutch, my dad is German, I was born in South Africa, lived in Sydney for three years, london for just under a year and Dallas for 11 years.
Home is here at SCF.

Diplomats in London and Washington have raised the stakes over Saturday's US-England World Cup clash by wagering a meal over the game's outcome.
The bet was brokered in cables between aides to US Ambassador Louis Susman and UK Ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald.
"We will understand if you decline, given the outcome of the last such encounter," a US aide wrote, referring to the US defeat of England in 1950.
A UK aide said Sir Nigel took his steak like that win - "somewhat rare".

You'll have to wear alot of hats as I think all of those nations are at the world cup - with either Germany or Holland the more likely to progress to the later stages! Best excuse for being on the booze for 6 weeks I have ever heard!!
Joke - I just said to the wife " Right sexy, upstairs now!" She looked at me and said "Oooh, kinky bastd". I said. "No seriously, The World Cup is starting soon, now FK OFF!"
Men , eh!

France V Uruguay, boring 0-0
good referreeing all the same
But hats off to Uruguay, they at least tried to get the ball down and play some attacking football.
France looked like a team without ideas or options

Okay, so my Spanakopita and Dolmas breakfast in support for Greece was in vain, Korea were simply better.
Korea 2 Greece 0
Now it's the time to see if Diego Maradona has what it takes to coach a national team and a chance to see if indeed Messi is the greatest player in the world.
Predictions?

No predictions, but the bookies are taking odds on whether he "assaults one his own player" "assaults a member of the media", or " gets thrown from the game"

I would'nt put it passed him to run naked through Buenos Aires if indeed they win. Wonder if he will first do a couple lines of Coke before running.

Was probably the dogsandwich I had that shifted the balance in Korea's favor
Cool tool for keeping track btw...

The Argies were deserved winners at 1-0 at halftime. Real good football and the goal was a definite training ground routine. So hats off to Maradonna he has them well drilled. Should be good 2nd half.
Now for England v USA. I think it'll go England's way, 2-0
-
Fair result, Nigeria did great by defending off the many attacks, and a few excellent breakouts, Argentina controlled the game, slowing it down whenever they needed to regroup.
Now for the game of the day...
England 2, USA 1. (prediction)
-
England 2 USA nill
-
Well thats one English spill that the USA wont be complaining about tonight!!!
-
Disappointing show from England. Not much more to say. The team never clicked and a few of them simply aren't good enough for international football - Carragher, SWP. Can't help feeling for Rob Green, those sort of things are a 10,000/1 chance and he was unfortunate to have it have in England's opening world cup game.
Still, we drew 0-0 against the (arguably) 2nd strongest team in the group, meaning victories against Slovenia and Algeria will see us through. And if we can't beat them, then we don't deserve to go up.
-
Lee,
The Eng v USA game was a poor show. I'm watching the Slo v Alg game at present (hal time now) and don't think England will have a push over with either of these teams.
After the games last night our, Eamon Dunphy the RTV football pundit had a comment that Capello should have the courage to either have Gerrard or Lampard on the pitch with Crouch!
He backed up this statement by rolling two or three match clips showing they are not working as a team, it was convincing. They are both top class players but sometimes 'primadonas' don't work well together. Dunphy reckons that Crouch should be able to take up the slack.

Still 1 night sleep and then the orange legioen is showing his face in the Arena. Holland vs Denmark.
What do you guys predict for this match is start withNETHERLANDS - DENMARK 4-1
-
The matches are great to watch but I wish they would ban those noisy horns the supporters seem to continuously blast
-
I doubt my body will survive this world cup, yesterday was a rough one, watching the game in a packed Texan pub resulted in a whole lot of free rounds, shots, over all a great time.
I was surprised at the turn out, a popular English style pub down the road was so full at 8am in the morning (game started 1:30pm) that they had to send people away to find other watering holes. The Manager of the Buffalo wild wings sports bar made the comment that they had greater numbers than they had during the Superbowl in the bar.
This draw will no doubt encourage more support and interest, so IMO that's a win for soccer in the USA.Okay...
Germany vs Australia, predictions?
-
Hmmm, history favours the Germans, and who'd dare write them off?
Franz Beckenbauer has recently critized the team for not singing the national anthem. There's currently 6 players in the side who could've declared for other nations!Only 6, Ireland is like an England B team
Prediction..... Draw but with goals
-
That's the way to go Pete
I found it amusing watching the Ghana Coach's reaction when they went one up against Serbia, not even a smile! And when they remained one up at the final whistle he still did not raise a smile!
I did a bit of checking and found this, 'Ghana coach Rajevac plots demise of his homeland' http://af.reuters.com/article/sportsNews/idAFJOE65C01L20100613
Now I understand his feelings. It also raises a question! Should team coaches / managers also be 'connected' to the country?
