Searching for Plugins to create holes through curved faces

How are you?
I am completly new here and I wanted to ask, since it is not possible to create directly a hole for example through a cylinder with the push/pull function, if there is a plugin that enables to create circular or diferent holes through curved faces. Usually I intersect a smaller cylinder (representing the hole) with the Body-Cylinder and then I eliminate the surplus geometry, leaving the hole. But there must a quicker way, since I have seen impressive programmers here;)
I would be very thankful!

There are a couple of plugins that let you do boolean operations on two sets of geometry.
