      Hi
I am posting a few images of a Geometric stair that I modelled in sketchup. I have deliberately avoided to model the internal railings, for better clarity. Also I think such a stair needs a support at some intermediate point. I have avoided to model that also. Please post your opinion about the model.
      Thank you.

                Hi James/Philip

It's certainly a nice set of stairs. I'm not sure what you'd like us to comment on though.
Would be better to see it more 'in context'.

Only thing I can say is that I feel the posts are extremely corny/nouveau riche/bad episode of MTV Cribs. The modelling of them is good though ( a close-up with wireframe would be nice) so kudos on that.

                Kind regards

Nice model and render. The only comment I have is about the small landing about 3/4 the way up. I think it detracts from the flow of the stair case. Does the landing have a use?

                  Cheers

                  S

                    Hi
Thank you for posting your views about the stair. I had the same feeling about the landing too. Some municipalities have made it strictly necessary to provide a landing. May be old or sick people may want to take a break while ascending. So I decided to model it that way though it involves more work.
I would also like to ask a favour. If you know about any reference book having the details about the "structural concrete design" of such a geometric stair, please post it here.

                    Thank you.

Well, you could argue that each step is big enough to serve as a landing, since two feet and a walking cane easily fit on each of them, so old people can take that rest.
