Without rendering, just wondering if there is a way in Sketchup to produce a catch light/sparkle effect?

      Many thanks!

        Absoultely.

However, ti really depends how you want to use it. It can be made, but the easiest way would be of little use I'm sure. so what did you have in mind? Animated to export in a movie? Just a sparkle generator that could make a still sparkle effect? Or something live that sparkles while you are working?

Of those, the still sparkle generator would work. The live one could be done, but of what use is it, it would not be able to export except by direct screen grab. And the animated one would be do-able, but tricky/impossible? to get it to work with other apps (renderers, for example).

        Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

          Hi Lee,

          You could "texture bake it"

Is this what you are looking for?

I added the lighting in Photoshop.

Many thanks for your response, Chris. It was just a singular 'sparkle' I was after, no animation. It's just to add a little je ne sais quoi to a scene which is promoting a particular product we have designed.

Should have said from the outset, sorry.
