Is SketchUp what I am looking for?

I don't know if SketchUp is what I am looking for. Here is what I want to do. I want to make a video which, unlike the "walk-throughs" I have seen posted, would show, for example, a square actually being pulled into a cube. That is, not only do I want to pull a square into a cube but I want to record that specific action on video. Does SketchUp have this capability? Thanks in advance.

I think you would want to look at Camtasia for example, and I thought there was one called Snagit, or something like that. You are looking for video capture of the modeling process. Wait around. If by the slimmest chance some of the well established members read this, they will have further suggestions. Many of the tutorials are done in this way.

As Mitcorb says, it's easily done with a screen recorder ( Screenflow for the Mac in this case)
