Although I view many wonderful posts for answers, I am a new participant to the forum. I would like to know how to show exterior lighting. I would like to spot light trees and understory planting aside from surfaces such as structures/buildings?

You'll need to used a render program...Kerkythea is free, or look into Twilight, Podium, Vray or one of many others to see which one works best for you πŸ˜‰
