Casting shadows ON a hidden object?

I found a post on how to cast shadows FROM a hidden object, with a special material... is there any way to cast shadows onto a hidden/invisible object? I'm using PhotoMatch and trying to cast shadows onto the building in the photo.. I know I can add a plane and do it in pshop, but trying to speed things up. thanks
