The Art of SketchUp - part 2: Sci-Fi

Very nice work, Ken. I would kill for your imagination.
I'm surprised that nobody has raised a stink because it's not "politically correct" to even think too loud about guns nowadays. Or anything else for that matter.

Problem is that the French actualities don't incline to these sort of things!
And alas the following in maybe a real generalized world war! -
Brilliant body of work Ken. The longer I look at your images the more impressed I become! the detailing is fantastic

@Steve, Pilou, John and Dale: Thank you so much for your kind words and support. Much appreciated. Apologies for the late reply.
Dear Friends,
Wow, it has been more than a year since my last post.
I disappeared for a while, but don't worry, I am still alive and back with a bunch of new concepts.
In case you were wondering what happened to me, here a quick summary. The company that I was working for on the mobile game Chronoblade ran out of funding and they shut down the Art Department and laid off the Art Director and Concept Artists.
However, as someone once said, when one door closes another opens, I got a new job. But I had to move to Los Angeles (Sherman Oaks, to be exact). I am no longer working in the game industry, but in the entertainment/theme park type of projects. Indeed, the new company is Victory Hill Entertainment and I am currently doing concepts for Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N shows that opened in Paris, New York, Seoul, Las Vegas and Singapore. Check out the website:
http://www.victoryhillexhibitions.com/I am also doing concepts for the upcoming Hasbro Transformers shows. I can't wait to share some of the latest concepts with you guys.
In the meantime, I can show you all the concepts I did for Chronoblade.
The concepts below are for the introduction chapter of the game.
Chronoblade is a mix of fantasy and sci-fi, therefore I will split my concepts in the fantasy and sci-fi threads.
Thanks for stopping and have a terrific week!

Changements but always imaginative creation!
-
Beautiful work as always, ken!
-
@ Pilou and Bryan: thanks for your comments.
Here are a couple of concept from the same location, which is the Chronarch Ship (the enemy alien race in the game). This is the battle with the Empress before she flees and then the chapter 1 of the game begins. You will have another opportunity to fight that boss at the end.
Have a great weekend!

That is geometry that seems more complex than your usual landscapes.
Very cool!

Welcome back Ken great to see you around again.

@ Bryan and John: Thanks for your kind words, guys. Yes, it's nice to be back.
Here are some more concepts inside the Chronarch ship.
Cheers!

Glad you can share some of your earlier projects. Great scenes. Exciting use of color and light--I guess one of the reasons your work is sought after.

@ Bryan and Peter: Thank you for your kind words and sorry for the late reply.
Hello everyone,
I just realized I have not posted anything for almost a year. I have been quite busy with work and other stuff.
I am quite excited about the release of Ready Player One last week. So I decided to do a few personal concepts of some kind of experiential exhibitions, where guests would go through the Slum and the Iron Giant Factory.
The Slum:
I wanted to add smokes and actors wearing VR headsets like in the movie but did not have the chance to work on them. I will do that when I have some time. The Iron Giant Factory:
The robot is hanging right in front of the guests entering the factory. On one side there are characters from the movies and on the other side the cars from the Copper Key racing. I was thinking of having maybe some VR stations where people can actually pick a car and enter the race.SketchUp + Lumion + Photoshop
Hope you like them.
Have a great day!
