Connect lines
-
how do I connect two lines? there is a small gap between two lines. for example 3 mm in a building model.
I want to know how big the room is, but after I imported the architecture drawings, I found that there are a lot of min gaps between doors and walls. the SU can only tell me the area size if the area is made by a group of closed lines.
Can anyone give me a help?

There's an app for that.
To mark the location of all the open line segments, use this script:
http://www.smustard.com/script/StrayLinesTo make faces once you close all the open line segments, use this script:
http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces
(and don't forget http://www.smustard.com/script/ProgressBar)To quickly connect all the open line segments, you have two choices of scripts:
http://www.smustard.com/script/CloseOpens
http://www.smustard.com/script/ExtendCloseLines -
2Dtools's Adjust also lets you change line lengths en mass.
First you select [by pick or wipe-over] your 'target lines' - these show orange.
Double-click to complete the set - they now show cyan.
Now select the lines to 'adjust' [by pick or wipe-over] and there ends adjust to the nearest target line - extend or trim.
Double-click to start a new target set etc etc.
With a little practice it's a quick way to heal gaps etc...
Don't try to do everything at once - limit the number of 'targets' otherwise the lines can trim/extend in unexpected ways... -

"Adjust" is a Tool within the 2Dtools toolset - accessed from the Draw>2Dtools menu or the 2Dtools toolbar...
