Preferences Dialog gone missing !?

hi all

i cant seem to get my preferences dialog on screen ... i select it from the window menu and the cursor goes white but i cant see the dialog anywhre on screen ...

help please ... im using a dual monitor setup and i have tried restoring my windows and moving them but still no luck
