Trouble creating a 3D model in Sketchup . . .

Trying to create a 3D animated rotating model in Sketchup (X ray view) for my son's science fair project, but never used it before.
I created a web page that shows the design and the real live device, any suggestions appreciated.

I'm sorry but the link you gave appears to be broken. I would love to help but uploading some pictures would be equally as helpful.
But in the end if it turns like a wheel, try using Proper Animation or Mover plugins. They are simple and easy to use.
If its a bit more complicated and requires physics, try Sketchy Physics but it isn't easy to use though. -
Firstly we will need a model, I see you have started, i cannot make out the notes you have, do you need help modeling it?
What is it anyway? looks like a huge spinning top made of earwax with bolts in it.
We can tackle animation last.
