Seat with a french seam stitching
-
Hi everyone.
I need to model a seat like the picture attached. I can model the seat form, it's the stitching and seams that has me baffled. This is an important detail that will show in the final render. I would love to see how some of you might approach this challenge. Thanks so much in advance!

The easiest approach will be bump map ..or if u want to model it try subdivide and smooth.

I have had a hard time getting the stitches to go around the corners in sketchup. I have tried Podium to render and the mapping is all a product of sketchup. Do other renderers make mapping easier?
Love your stuff by the way, Elisei.

I think other renders will deal better the mapping but u still have to make the map to fit the seat..
Here is a try with sds. After making the model i made those holes by intersection and joint push pull. Thanks!
