I would like to be able to export my model into a QTVR file so that people can spin around the model. I am not looking for 360 panoramic views. I am trying that people that view my model can rotate around it or move it like and object. If someone knows how, if there is a plug in, please let me know. I tried Artlantis, but I can not find the sketchup plug in anywhere and when I open the model I am missing windows and geometry.

      Please help,

      Thanks!

        Hi Loamie and welcome.

        Here are the steps:

        1. There is a plugin called "CubicPanoOut" in the Ruby Library Depot. You can export 6 images from a certain view - front, left, back, right, top and bottom of the cube numbered as x0, x1,x2, x3, x4, x5 (I added x as something "custom" name).
Tip: turn off shadows but leave "Use sun for shading" in the Shadows dialog (Window menu) otherwise the top and bottom pieces will have a visible difference in shading.
Tip 2 - export your images at quite high resolution - say 1000x1000 pixels each - otherwise when zooming in in the panorama, they may become blurry.
        2. As a PC user, download this nifty, little program called "GoCubic" (Mac users have more possibilities but here is another free app) and stitch your panorama together.
        3. Now you are ready and can send your panorama *.mov file to anyone but you can even upload it to a free hosting service like You3DView or such and let people watch online or even embed those views into html pages or even in a forum like this - see some beautiful examples here or here (and the following pages on - note that they have also been rendered in external, photorealistic renderers).

unfortunately the depot is a bit down at the moment - it was inaccessible yesterday and it is rather unresponsive today as well although I could finally get there...

        Gai...

I need to be able to rotate around the model. It is a campus model and it will be used to identify parking and its relationship to the entrance for accessibility. I need a QTVR 3d object file so the graphic design firm can add a legend and a few other things around the model and they said that is the type of file they want. I was wondering first how to do that in sketch up without exporting it to another program if that is possible. I tried the cubic pan our plug in but that is not what I am looking for cause that create a panoramic view and I want to be able to see all sides of my buildings and site and be able to manipulate the mouse so that it stops where I want.
