At this moment i am working with a lot of converted 3ds models, but the problem is that all these models become very large because of the geometry.

These two images illustrate what i would like to achieve:

The weird thing is that the geometry that is shown in the first model is not necassary to make planes. So i don't know if there is a function that can recognise unnecessary geometry and remove it.

I do know that it is possible to smooth a model, but this is only hiding the problem and not getting rid of the problem. So i am searching for somekind of rubyscript that can remove the inner lines. I don't know if something like this allready exist, but it probably does!

Thank you very much for your reply. I was not able to find the right ruby during search on the site. I received all messages with the words i was looking for. Maybe a suggestion for the site to change the way the search engine works? Or maybe i am definately failing with my internet skills! 😍

          But thank you
