Good find, here you go http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/generation-4-bundles?cat=1025

Somehow building models showing women walking the streets in underwear would detract from the original intent of the model - to show the BUILDING! Or it would send the wrong message for type of occupancy. 😆

They may be like dolls, but you can buy a special skin for them...

Is it just me ? or does this make you feel a bit 'uncomfortable' ? 🤢 👊
You are sure to find women other than your spouse attractive - it's just natural... BUT to start to think that a CGI 'woman' is alluring is worrying ! [She is pressing a lot of the right buttons...] - I just won't look anymore, I'll have a cold shower and then stick to traditional 'flesh and blood' - although that'll gets me into 'real' trouble... 👊 🤣

TIG, I am getting worried about you! But I do agree that these models have perfect proportions and features. Even a very young baby is more attracted to a picture of a well proportioned face over a not so well proportioned face. Its in our genes so not to worry.

I'm with you TIG. I don't get the Daz3D and Poser craze. Browsing through the gallery of sites like Renderosity.com is like looking at softcore CG porn. Are these all grown men who play with these virtual dolls? I also don't get that every model has to be half naked with an underage face and a pornstar body. Borderline uncomfortable!

                Here are some good ones

How about this semi retarded boy with his sister...the clock wielding nipple pastie girl

Or how bout this one...Lil Sis Kaly..the dollar sign nipple pastie ghetto mama

On an entirely practical note, anyone who’s ever experimented with Poser figures knows you can’t let them within a million miles of SU…even their lowest of the low-res figures, like Loretta Lorez or the Modern Males are still unacceptably high poly for any kind of architectural rendering, unless used singly…and the males look like they’ve been wearing their suits in the bath, along with their 501s.
The standard figures come in at 100,000s of faces

As for using them as billboards…might I suggest that wonder of modern technology known as the digital camera? It’s a helluva lot faster, gives far more realistic results and produces a much greater range of figure types....you know, ones that actually look like people.

Of course, if you don’t need to use them for entourage and just want to play with dolls, they’re ideal. 😒

I was thinking more about Victoria, their 'main' model. Don't they look like that in Formby? 😆

I mean no offence to anybody here but perhaps you should check out major motion pictures, tv shows, games, magazines, Ads and the future before you put down these "dolls". These very "dolls" are used in motion pictures all over the world.. In the graphic fields we are very happy that people take the time to create these "dolls",cars, airplanes, and even buildings..Sketchup is not only for buildings and landscapes..The only reason I brought this to everyones attention was because there are always request for 3d people in these very forums, and I thought I'd show another option to the washed out 2d people...From now on I will think twice...

                          380,

Certainly you don't think you offended any of these seasoned vets around here. 😄 My comments weren't about the software. I actually think Poser and Daz are pretty brilliant and the realism in regards to the human form has come a long way. I just think there is a certain fragment of the Poser/Daz community, mostly hobbyists, that are a little weird. It just seems like 60-70% of the Poser/Daz packs available would not be suitable for any real world renderings....unless maybe you are doing a rendering of the Playboy mansion or a Harry Potter scene. That's not to say that professionals don't use the programs for their work with realistic results, it just seems that there is a hobby crowd that uses the program to play a perverse game of dress up and fantasy. It's just an opinion spurred by your post and has nothing to do with the you, or your attempt to bring awareness to a these free figures. I'm sure they will be of use to many, but unless you have a poly reducer, probably not so useful within Sketchup.

All slightly tongue in cheek, no offence meant....hence the smilies. Yes Victoria and the equivalent male bases...Michael or David...are pretty normal-looking and do work excellently as realistic figures in other programs such as Max and Vue. I've used them there myself, having used Poser on and off since V1...I've got V7 at the moment. You can even animate them. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's not them walking around the deck in Titanic and almost any CGI movie since.
But you have to admit that there's an awful lot of frankly quite odd body morphs of the sword, sorcery and faery queen variety out there...whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

My real point was that this being a SketchUp forum (OK, I suppose this is the bar..and anything goes) they aren't a realistically viable resource for SU. I tried that myself almost a decade ago and frankly the degree of polygon reduction necessary (followed by hours of then necessary patching up) means it's actually quicker to build the things yourself from scratch...it really is.

I've got to tread carefully here, as I have a certain interest in this kind of content...but that shouldn't mean I can't express an opinion. Let's just say that figures from AXYZ or Lowpolygon3D etc would suit many SU users far better, as almost any Poser figure will bring SU to its knees...even if it's the only thing in the frame. Nor are you allowed to adapt and share any figures you might make, starting with this free content...it's strictly against the DAZ Terms of Use. They are free...but only to make renderings or animated sequences from....not as any alternative to the "washed out 2D people" that can be shared.
