Sid, just a question, why improve the current version when you could be using all your resources to get the new version completed and tweaked to perfection?
I'm not saying that the improvements to version 1 are not necessary but rather the urgency of releasing a final version 2 is already two years overdue and with the improvements and very small upgrade price would y'all not think that Podium 2 should be the focus of all the attention right now?

Does the free version is 1.7.2 or just 1.7?

Well, it is what we committed to do. The idea is to keep 1.x in development while we also work on V2....
At some point we will stop developing V 1.x and that will "probably" happen once the V2 is out of beta.

All versions of 1.x are free upgrade. We will have very small upgrade fee for V2.
