Twilight or Lightup?

Up till now I have attempted all my lighting renderings 'manually' in photoshop and created interiors by using transparent ceilings/ceiling layer switched off etc. However spurious shadows can intervene which don't always look convincing. QUESTION: Have the above lighting apps. now come of age in that they are easy to use and achieve convincing effects - the demos certainly point to that. If so which is considered quickest and easiest to apply or is there even another?

Lightup is a bit different to twilight in that it makes your rendered model navigable in real time, i.e. the lighting is baked on to the model.
Twilight is a more traditional renderer in that it will give you either a single rendered image or an animation but not baked on lighting.
In addition to this lightup has a few tricks up its sleeve, like being able to show DC animations and being able to produce light intensity renders. On the other hand twilight can do more complicated lighting effects such as SSS and caustics.
If you havent already id recommend giving the demos for each a go and see what you think. If you are skilled enough a huge variety of effects can be achieved with either.

Yes, this is typically an apples and oranges situation. They are both very cool apps but work so differently and serve so different purposes that you cannot compare them.

Thanks for your views both. I have had a play with twilight and it certainly has some good effects although as you say it renders a view at a time each time. Maybe lightup is the way I should be going for its in house continuity I will give it a whirl.
