I invite you to an orange juice!

"Dear Sirs"
I had made a glass with orange juice and two ice rocks, to improve a pool scene in a project. I'd share it.Good profit!
(At me have been interesting to make the ice cubes, but i don't rounded the edges because I have thought that it was not necessary to this level of detail)

Well, cheers then.

I tried a close view but there are a lot of oddities in the model, like reversed face and interferences... so I modeled new from scratch, a good test for material development.
cheers

What are reversed faces and interferences?. I am interested to learn. I'll be grateful a detailed explain.
Thanks and greetings -
Well, you should check your model first - all the faces on the outside of the model should be white.
There shouldn´t be any "blueish" faces.
Therefore, you should reverse faces from the context menu. -
I'm not sure it's the same for others rendering engines, my little experience is about kerkythea. all the objects, divided by material, must have the front faces looking out, this means that looking into the empty glass you won't see any blueish face, it's a common beginners error. after that, you merged the orange juice with the glass, both materials have a common surface, this gets you faking refractions. there was also the ice material applied to the upper edge of the glass... all little things that in SU or in a wide scene you don't notice, if you made it for a pool model surely it runs well without loading the model with useless elements
-
this was a test with your model, apart the ice and juice bad materials ( what a troubles!) you can see the refraction between glass and liquid is not very realistic because lacks a surface that 'closes' the glass volume. also the flat edge looks not much pretty

OK!
Thanks to you, tridem. It's a full lesson!. Ususally i don't render without sketcup. I'll try to improve my models next time!
Thanks and greetings. -
simple cup, I'll think I'll enjoy one too!
And I am still amazed by the realistic renderings!
