I'm having trouble navigating around my sketchup model in Max once it's been imported.

The original model was exported as a .3ds file, imported to Max with cameras. the image renders fine with mental ray, but i can't navigate around the model with any precision to tweak it. when i attempt to pan, orbit, or zoom with my mouse, the slightest movement sends me shooting away from the model. i tried to scale the model up in max, but that doesn't seem to change the navigation problems.

i've modelled in skp for a while now, but am new to max, so it's probably something silly but elusive. any thoughts? is there a different export method that i could use in skp to fix the problem?

      thanks,
      pete

Check under export what settings you have. Maybe its mm and your importing as meters?
