I try not to be a whiner, or complain much... so let's call this a 'wish'... but perhaps it belongs in the Bug section as it's been a problem since day one when I started with SU4 or 5... can't even remember now. 😳

one thing I just ran into again that seems like it should have been 'fixed' long ago... πŸ˜•
When you use the tape measure tool and then type in a distance, it asks if you want to rescale the model.
If you say yes, it rescales the model. Great.

Now all 20 cameras I had set up are useless... 😒 and going and setting them up again exactly as they were before in the newly scaled model seems quite impossible.

if you use the film/stage plugin and create a camera for every scene, when you resize your model the cameras will resize too with position proportional and when you look through them... tada. damn whiner πŸ˜†

thanks xrok... workarounds are ok for a temporary fix... but my point is that this is something extremely long-standing.

and this idea will certainly NOT work in an office situation where you are handed all sorts of sloppy models from others... I'm certainly NOT able to go in and replace 20 cams for some other guy's work 6 months ago.

It will also not work when I'm in a 'support' situation working with someone else's model. πŸ˜•

          so for my 'wish'... no.

so I need to use a plugin and special tool for something that seems fairly basic?

          • I don't want these camera objects.... they would only confuse the less-initiated SU users in the office. πŸ˜’

SU makes a career out of making people write plugins for things that are pretty basic and should already be there. specially by a version 7!!!! 😲 this is more like a version 3 software IMO since there hasn't been a major change of tools since then. if you add up all the new stuff since ver3 you may have an excuse to call it ver3.5, maybe.

            anyway, sorry i couldn't help.
