I think the website should be clearer about how updates are obtained and installed
Fair point...
I will make sure that we do it better in the future...Although Chris posted this announcement here at the SCF, I recommend that users always search about things on the TWR Forum...
Posts here at the SCF should be seen as a service, similar to how other applications are posting such announcements...Please see the Version 1.1 thread...

Downloaded v1.1 demo, installed it, my license is gone. It says i have a demo version now. What the hell?
-
Are you still running the very first version by any chance? i remember having a similar problem after my first upgrade (to a maintenance release.)
You can easily get another license through the usual method by the way, its just a bit of a faff.

I can only assume that you didn't have the latest version (ver. 1.0.19)
installed...Any way... Unless you're installing TWR on another computer or have upgraded the OS, you can simply use and install the license key you've received previously...
(If you haven't got this anymore, you need to request a new license key...) -

Chango, I can easily see the reason in your OS info: You're running Vista 64-bit and according to the new version announcement, those running Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit might have to re-request their licenses only if they never upgraded to TWL 1.0.19 (which introduced a change in licensing for 64-bit OSs), which seems to be your case.
BTW, has anyone noticed this is already the fourth TWL release? You should check the forum more often, TWL moves really fast.

I downloaded and installed but when I went to the TW Options/About menu it still reads version 1.0. Am I doing something wrong here?
-
Do you have more than one SketchUp version installed on your hard drive? Perhaps you installed it on the other one.
-
No. . ..it seems to create a file tree plugins/twilight/twilight with duplicate files in each. I try to copy one over the other and it won't let me. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled but it doesn't fix it.
D
Oops! I figgered it out.
Thx,

Thanks guys I sent off the license request again. Hope it works!

David, please post this question at Twilight's forum, you will have your answer quite quickly I imagine.

Yes, to update your version of Twilight Render for Google SketchUp, simply download the new demo from the download section of http://twilightrender.com or from the Update V1.1 thread, and install over the top of your current version. If you already have a license it will NOT need to be re-requested. (except possibly with some 64bit systems)
Please note especially something most people didn't notice:
License deliveryhas changed slightly so that the email will hopefully not be blocked any more by some email admin systems.
Save rendered images as EXR = OpenEXR (.exr) the High Dynamic Range image type developed by Industrial Lights and Magic. It can be used for many things, but some users like it for use with programs such as Motiva SOAP"@unknownuser said:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenEXR)":3eobmx9c]OpenEXR is a high dynamic range imaging image file format, released as an open standard along with a set of software tools created by Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), released under a free software license similar to the BSD license.
It is notable for supporting 16-bits-per-channel floating point values (half precision), with a sign bit, five bits of exponent, and a ten-bit mantissa. This allows a dynamic range of over thirty stops of exposure.
Both lossless and lossy compression of high dynamic range data is also supported.[1]
Most importantly the new View Setup Tool exclusive to Twilight really guarantees you will see exactly what you will render, and be able to pick a focal point any where in your scene, making setting up DOF extremely easy and fun.
