Just read this on the SUPlugins site

"We also are continuing to work on Podium Version 2 which is in it's 15th Alpha version. Beta1 should be released before the end of the year. All Podium 1.x customers will be eligible to use V2 BETA at no charge (final release will have a small upgrade fee)."
Cool! Totally looking forward to it.

Excellent, I've been wondering what's up with Podium 2.
-
Me too. Should make a useful addition to the tool kit.
I'm dying to see what the UI and the workflow are like.
-
I'm more curious about the bells and whistles it may or may not include.
I hope for:
HDRI support
Refraction
Caustics
Shadow control (ability to switch on and off on lights, as well as soft shadows)
A good material editor
Multi pass render or at least alpha and depth pass.
I would have said displacement but I was already informed that it's not neccessary/needed.
-
Yeah, I know you want it to have lots of bells and whistles. I'm guessing they'll choose to keep it simple, though.
-
First version will not have all things from the list but most from the list are road mapped. And before you ask me I can't really discuss it further.

Yeah ... thought you may say that.
-
Good news. Really looking forward to the next Podium.

I also can't wait to check out V2, I hope there are some bells and whistles but what I would really like to see is some sort of material editor instead of adding reflections to faces and suffixs to material names, this way materials can be saved and reused in other models making it quicker and easier to set up scenes, especially with big models, so it should fit with the philosophy of Podium.

I cannot imagine they'd stick with the current MO.
-
Well I can say there will be material editor.
