      Hi,
I'm looking for a surface texture like floorboards but just the lines. I don't really want to draw the multitude for lines. Any suggestions?

        Hi!
You can find lots of useful links in this thread http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=486&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=free+textures.
Although I don´t quite understand "a surface texture like floorboards but just the lines" part.
Anyway, I hope that these may come in handy.

        Comfortably numb...

If all you want are the lines and you want a sketchy appearance, you could make your own right in SketchUp. Open a new session and draw out the lines. That's as simple as drawing a single line and making a linear array if you want. Apply your sketchy edge style of choice. If you draw the lines on the ground plane, set the view to Top and do a Zoom Extents to fill the drawing window. Export a JPG and crop it in your favorite image editor so the lines run off the ends. Now import that image as a material and make sure you save the material for future use. Took me longer to type this than it would take to do it.

Thanks for the replies. What I wanted was a line texture that would not result in objects i.e. closed rectangles. I had the notion that an image texture would be less resource hungry than a bunch thousands of lines. At any rate, I created it in AutoCad without allowing the ends to connect and imported. Will turn into jpg later.
            thanks again
