About texturing
-
Hello everyone!
As a newbie I am quite satisfied with my progress in modeling (which is, to be honest, still very much trial and error based), but when it comes to texturing and rendering, I fell stuck. My knowledge about texturing is limited to Paint Bucket, and maybe some editing in external applications. Recently I have discovered Pixplant, which caught my attention very quickly, due to its "highly automated with most textures created in 1-4 clicks" properties. Now I would really like to know what to do with all those normal, displacement and specular maps and 3D textures created that way and how to use them in SU if that is possible, of course.
This may sound stupid, but it surely would help me a lot.
Thanks! -
Those maps have no use in pure SU, only when rendering.

BTW, thanks for the heads up on Pixplant, looks like a very useful program. anyone here use it?

I use Pixplant almost daily, at least for every new texture I make for rendering.

are there any progs that can combine two seeds to make an output texture. such as two different brick images?

Thanks for your replies, guys.
PS. I think that PixPlant comes in two flavours: as standalone app and Photpshop plugin - so I guess it could be accomplished in PS, if not in PixPlant alone. -
