Thought I would try once more to see if anyone can help me with this problem that is driving me nuts 👊

I've got a model I created in Sketchup and animated two items in it with Smooth animation. Made my scenes, set scene delay to 0 and enabled scene transition. When I watch the video thru Smooth Animation preview it looks good. However, when I export it, the animation pauses
between each scene. I can't figure out what is up. I'm using an fps of 24. Have tried 30, makes no difference. It's as if there are extra frames in between each scene.

For most of the video, my camera angle is stationary.

I am making the vidoe thru a program called VirtualDub (have posted this question there as well). Don't know if the problem is in sketchup or VirtualDub. It could be that I'm just missing a simple setting somewhere (I hope).

Any help on this is greatly appreciated! I'm trying to get the video posted to where you can link to it so you can see exactly what I'm talking about...no luck so far. Thanks!

Well, I have tried with Proper Animation and Mover.rb and I get the same problem with both when exporting the animation via Smooth Animation. However, Mover.rb has the big advantage that the animation spans from scene to scene when shown in the SketchUp viewport, while Proper Animation seems to pause between scenes even when played in the viewport.

Anyway, I guess the only way to get a video of exactly what you see on screen is to record it from the screen. You don't need a video camera, just a screen recording software. Head to this thread so we can keep all screen recording discussion in a single place:

SketchUp tends to have a slight pause at each scene transition even when delay is set to 0. The only really effective way I could only imagine to cut out one or two frames at these points from the animation.

Is this in reference To Whaat (Dale Marten's) SmoothStep animation plugin? If so, then it looks like it should be able to export without any of the ususal SU jerkyness. You might try asking this question in that plugin's thread here:

            http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=13234

You are probably more likely to get Dale's attention, or the attention of other's who watch that thread and know more about the plugin if you post your question over there (though no guarantee I suppose 😄 )

thanks, I checked out the thread and one of the things he says is that his plug in is NOT intended for object animation. That could be my problem. I may need to look for a plug-in that is more object oriented.
