Did you try the one at Smustard?

I was also going to suggest it but then I realised Jim might want something different as the one at Smustard can track how much you are modelling but not how much you are scripting plugins.

          Maybe I'll just use Legos.

You could also check out BillQuick (http://www.billquick.com). It's very powerful, but also has a "Lite" version that is free (it's the full demo version that locks out some features after the trial period).

I just came across this - its an ancient program but appears to work great.

Thanks for the suggestions. Still looking, although looking these sites over has gave me some ideas about my own workflow. In the meantime, I am using a clock and pencil and paper (high tech.) I am planning on registering for quickbooks or freshbooks to track clients and create invoices (still looking at that.)

"My" time tracker would not be a hard programs to write - with a task editor, and the ability to clock in and out on tasks... so I may end up slapping together something.

                Hi

                  SPERICAL TIMESHEET

I thought I posted this before but must not have clicked something correctly. I have used this for years and seen nothing better. You can set up jobs, task, paste from old to new etc. and it will keep track of EVERY MINUTE OF TIME you use (in the background-do not have to start/stop etc.)on the computer by screen, drawing or just about any way you want to compole it and print the time sheet in a number of ways. One thing I like to use it for is historical estimating of previous jobs or task.

I found a couple open-source projects for project time-tracking which have some of the features I was looking for - mainly simplicity, multiple projects/tasks, being able to switch projects/tasks frequently, and basic reporting.

Xnote Stopwatch/Clock is an on-screen timer, and you can insert time snapshots into its built-in table or into a running Excel spreadsheet. Might be useful as a work timer.

Please click just to support XNote Stopwatch on Google search results. Thanks. :)

                            I would check out FreshBooks.

It's a great invoicing program, with plugins to track time and incorporated that information directly into a clients invoice.
