Follow Me Tool leaves a hole inside a bend
-
Hi forum,
I want to make a bent rod. For this, I drew some intersecting lines, replaced the intersections by tangent arcs, and then used the Follow Me Tool to extrude a circle along the centerline of the rod.
All worked well except that at SOME of the bends of the rod, the Follow Me Tool always leaves a rectangular hole in the rod surface?

I have no idea what causes this.
Thanks for any help how to make the rod without holes,
Cheers David.P

What is the diameter of that? I think the holes are because sketchup can not make those faces. Scale the object before follow-me. This should resolve the problem. It's a known fact that SketchUp can not make faces if smallest edge of the face is less than 1mm.

Great -- that did it. Scaling resolved the problem completely (the final diameter of the rod is only 5mm).
Thanks!
