What the hell...?
-
I doubt it Tom, I would have been told.
I had a problem earlier logging in also, but eventually it worked, nothing like that happened to me. -
The shortcut I was using (for months) was:
http://sketchucation.com/forums/scf/
which redirects to this:
http://www.sketchucation.com/scf-contact-page/
found this one (where I am now as I type) on the home site?:
http://forums.sketchucation.com/
and logged in automatically...? -
Just change the URL of your shortcut/bookmark to http://forums.sketchucation.com/ and all is well again.
-
I had the same problem.
After changing my URL shortcut, all works well again. -
Guys, the forums have been running under the
forums.sketchucation.com
domain for months now. Please, read announcements like this one.And yes, I know how it is as I ended up on that contact page myself when using my bookmark this morning.
So please, also don't take this for any kind of ranting
BTW since that contact page sends the "help me" emails to me, I can get prepared for a lot of emails so I am already writing up my "canned response" for this issue.

Well, I've been using the new URL for ages, but something certainly happened yesterday. Last night I kept getting a 404 error, then this morning I got the same page as Tom. I had to get in via the site Homepage link. It took several cookie clearings before I got the forum to load correctly. OK now though...good look with all the fan mail Csaba.

Since the URL was changed, I've been spending about an hour daily to help people out with login issues and such (most of them related to old cookies that should be cleared). Now that you mention your cookie problems, I'm getting scared.

Gaieus,
I confirm what Alan says.
Because I did clean my cookies when you advise us about the changes.
Seems really that something happened. But don't worry it's not a big matter. -
Ah, this is the thread about the issue yesterday.
I myself got an error trying to access sketchucation.com .
I still had no problem getting on the forums though. ( forums.sketchucation.com ) -
OK, I think Coen was doing something on the other subdomains so the temporary error may have been due to that. Probably even he didn't notice otherwise he would have definitely dropped a line as he usually does.
Hope it's really not a big deal however and those who did the cookie thing back when we changed the domain, should not really have issues now as only the redirect page was removed but SCF was not affected or changed (to my best knowledge but Coen is away now and hard to reach for a couple of more days).
When we finish with all the changes and such, I think best will be to put an announcement (or even a "Newsletter") together and list everything.
Edit: For the time being (and to lessen the surprise of those using these old bookmarks), I have amended the "Contact page". Let me know guys if that's a good way in your opinion (following the link I inserted will take others here).

Good idea with the contact page, should help lessen the confusion

I too got here through a "back door", my original short cut continues to fail???????
Btw, Tom, I am under the impression that this forum has the blessing of Google, but is owned by others. But what do I know That's the thing about multi-national entities, you don't know who owns, or runs it. I have several post in various foruns where a moderator has promised something, but ultimately never responded. Oh well, I do something similar in my own office from time to time:-)

Gai, you da man! (not a big deal at all BTW)

Yeah, I guessed so and you have enough forum and browsing experience to workaround it but if you guys imagined how many emails I get via that link a day - about SU problems and such!
Some people think that's the post button - so better this way.
