      Hi to ALL,

Today, I imported some Autocad DWG, because I soon want to support a friend in the visualization of his projects. The import went without problems, even with Autocad 3D models.

I noticed that the imported DWG are presented without text in Sketchup. Is this normal or do I make a mistake?

I have also found a site where you can find free downloadable DWGDXF files. There are some interesting things underneath.

Those who are interested, here is the link: http://cadblocks.net/

As far as I know, sketchup will NOT import text legibly from AutoCAD.
I think a one-time work around is to explode the text in autocad (not very pretty linework) and then try importing. Again it won't be very pretty, but maybe useful for reference as you model and apply materials.

          Hi Tommy,

Thankyou for your answer. Than i have switch between the DWG/DXF Viewer and Sketchup during modelling.
