      Hi every one,

Here is an issue I have in mind since long time: whenever working in 2D views (elevations, top views, sections), none of the sketchy edges styles is suitable: there are always some lines on one axis that disappear from the drawing, making the view incomplete.

Is there any one who knows an alternate possibility to get sexy 2d views for architectural drawings instead of the boring "classic styles" available ? Please post samples of your own results if possible.

      Cheers,
      Salmorejo

Could you post an image showing what you mean? Is it short line segments or lines that are foreshortened that are disappearing? If so, you might have some success by editing the style and adjusting the Level of Detail slider.

          Hi Dave,

Well I tried to adjust in the style itself, but it is not working at all.

Here are 2 pict: normal style and sketchy edges styles:

          sketchy style: many lines disapear

I see what you're getting at. It doesn't appear that it's lines that are too short. Hmmm.... I'll do some doodling and see if I can figure something out. If you pan in one direction or another, do the lines come back? Are they only disappearing in the export or on screen, too.

I don't know if this will do anything for you but just so we can rule it out, experiment with the OpenGL settings under Preferences. Does anything change?

As soon as I span a few degrees, or go to perspective views, all lunes come back. Its a screenshot that you see there, I did not try any kind of export.
I will try with open GL too and keep you posted. Thanks Dave

                Hi Dave,

Well, it looks much better when I deactivate Open GL accelerator... Great! By the way, any topic regarding open gl, so I will understand better the matter?

                Thanks again !

Glad the OpenGL changes worked for you. I know only enough about OpenGL to be dangerous but it is the thing (protocol, system, whatever) that is responsible for creating the 3D appearance. SketchUp is designed to work well with the nVidia chipset and OpenGL and for other graphics adjustments have to be made. The specific combination of adjustments seems to vary between machines and graphics driver software revisions. I would imagine you could get better info if you search OpenGL here on the forum.
