Importing Solidworks 3D .SLDASM or .SLDPRT to Sketchup
-
I am trying to import a Solidworks .SLDASM or .SLDPRT drawing into Sketchup Pro Version 7. I know that about a year ago I saw some discussion about a Ruby Script plug in that was created for Solidworks (su2stl.rb) but I have not had any success with this script. I can't even figure out how to get it into Sketchup. Supposedly all you have to do is copy it into the Plugin's folder. It doesn't work. Does anyone have any updated info or had any success on importing Solidworks files into Sketchup Pro 7.0? If so can you explain to me what needs to be done and how? Thanks.

Id recommend exporting from solidworks to this: http://moi3d.com/ then using that to convert to something SU can read.
MOI's NURBS->poly exporter is the best i know of and will almost certainly do a better job of converting the file than solidworks.
