I'm for several years teacher for Google SketchUp. The students are architects, interior architects and garden designers.
My contribution to this forum is a 'How-to'-guide to draw a "spiral staircase" with the use of 'one' the plugin: "Screw.1_5.rb.

The use of the Plugin: "Spiralstair.rb" does not meet the demands, because the starting point can not be determined.

The best way to draw a spiral staircase is to use the plugin: "Screw '.
You can download the plugin at: http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_edi_page.htm

The 'how-to'-manual can be freely downloaded at: http://www.macinfo.be/Voorbeeld.html

      Good luck!

Hi Johan and thanks for this addition. My only "crit" would be the handrails maybe; they look to segmented on the model.

As a totally unrelated fact, on your website, I saw this frame for some video which obviously doesn't want to load on my machine:

It's a quicktime movie. You might want to download QuickTime (and iTunes) from the Apple site

OK, thanks. In fact, I do have QT - only I disabled its plugin function because no matter what I set, it always "wants" to play all file types which I hate (why is any program so agressively take over my file associations?).

Anyway, enabling the plugin let me see the video, thanks.
