Saw this in a woodworking magazine. Might be useful for someone. If I remember correctly, the author made the table out of ash. The dovetail joints are a feature and so a different wood for the uprights might look nice. The curved sections are glued on so that the grain blends with the edges of the table, and are finished with a spoke shave. All in all an elegant piece lacking only a simple vase of flowers.

      Regards,
      Bob

Here is a more accurate model showing the construction.

According to the article in the magazine, the boards were made by gluing narrow strips of wood together. This was done to give a more interesting grain structure.

The construction is revealed by double click on a part.

        Regards,
        Bob

          I'll take one.

But how does the vertical piece go to the top surface? Since there are no lines relating to it on the top (except it appears there is a narrow tongue coming through) it'd seem to be some sort of miter. Would look cool rendered with all the dovetails.

          Thanks for the post. P
