Hola! Does anybody know of an easy way to shorten scene transitions to less than a second?

I'm trying to create a flashing lights animation using the layers and the flashing is too slow.

If you go to the "Window " menu then Model Info / Animations it will allow you to set the time for your scene transitions. Hope this helps

          Hi folks.

The smallest increment is 0.5 second.

          Just ideas.

You might try this plugin by morisdov (#4)

I think through Ruby you can set transition times of less than 0.5 second.

            Hi

Yes you can. I have a script I use for animation that sets all pages transition time according to choosen framerate.
Meaning, 25 fps (PAL) gives you a transition time of 0.04 seconds. (1/25 = 0.04).
Put in plugins folder. It will appear under the camera menu.

No need for a ruby, you can just type in the desired length. Click on the time and type in 0.1 and it will work.

Does this ruby happen to allow you to extend the scene tranistions past the default max value of 100?

I think it would, but I have not tried to see if SketchUp will take it.

What are you trying to do, a real time shadow video? That is on my list of things to try in my new house πŸ˜„ Set up a camera and overlay a SketchUp model and match shadows throughout the year to test for accuracy, and test a full day video.

I just checked and it appears to be able to simulate a camera movement similar to what I am asking. I am going to see how it works with V-ray. Chris, I am wondering about this because in order to use the vray spawner, you need to use a work around and I am trying to completely avoid the scene transitions that causes the dreaded jerky SU camera movements. That leaves me with only 100 scenes to work with for the parts in my animation and results in 3 second segments that are just too quick for an entire animation. I use post processing to help lengthen some of these things, but being able to set a number higher than 100 would be great because it would give me more frames to work with.
